On the 6th January 2006 I was reborn in a duck pond in Victoria Park, East London. Frog Morris kindly gave a warming speech and guided me through my rebirth.
Coming to the excitement and multicultural diversity of London in late 2005, I felt that my small English town and middle of the road up bringing left me un-attractive to new acquaintances. So I decided to transform myself, to create a tool to aid me whilst traversing the social pitfalls and ladders of recognition.
And so I used my past to radically alter the way in which I can go on living.
My parents have always said that I was nearly born in a duck pond.
My mother was due to give birth to me when she was sitting by a duck pond close to the county hospital. She would not leave the calmness of that waterside scene as she was fearful of the treatment she might receive once in the care of the institution; having given birth once already and it being a tortuous experience involving unsympathetic nurses man-handling her as she endured incredible pain and discomfort.
My father urged her to leave the pond and seek medical help before it was too late. And so at last she gave in and moments later I was born in the safety of a hospital ward.
My Rebirth has made what once nearly was; a reality. Now I can say with confidence that I was born in a duck pond.
When out socialising and meeting new people I use this new history, this social hook to promote myself as an interesting and unusual person, individual and singular.
